Synopsis

The Mystery of The Inner World is an emotionally driven fantasy drama that makes visible the hidden inner world of a gifted and highly sensitive child. We follow Yara, a young girl who slowly gets stuck within the regular school system. She feels misunderstood: by her parents, her teacher and the world around her. As the distance between her and her surroundings grows, she withdraws further and further into herself. When Yara unexpectedly discovers a world inhabited by elves who live from sensitivity, intuition and awareness, she experiences calm, recognition and connection for the first time. But this inner world turns out not to be an escape from reality.. It is a mirror. When both worlds lose their balance, Yara has to learn that her sensitivity is not a weakness to hide, but a strength she is allowed to integrate into her real life. The realistic scenes show Yara's daily struggle in the outside world, while the fantasy world helps her move towards her healing process. Visually, the film combines realistic drama with dreamy, ethereal fantasy imagery: a world in which nature, emotion and inner experience merge into a poetic cinematic experience.
